Step Two Ask others for a recommendation. Your family and friends may have a dentist they love that is in your network. Your coworkers are a great resource for recommendations to because they likely have the same dental plan. You can also get a list of dentists from the American Dental Association or the Academy of General Dentistry.
Step Three Obviously it is ideal if your dentist is close to your home or work. It will make going to appointments much easier. You also want your dentist to be accessible. Find out how they handle dental emergencies. How flexible are they when it coms to scheduling appointments. What are their hours?
Step Four Once you have a list of prospective dentists call or schedule a visit. Ask if if they are a member of the American Dental Association, or The Academy of General Dentistry. Step Five Evaluate the dentist after you visit the office. Was the office clean and orderly. Did you wait long for your appointment? Was the staff friendly and courteous?
